OVERVIEW:

After the success of the poster campaign, SNO redesigned the art to create a bold 20’ x 40’ mural in English, Spanish and Korean that was painted on the south-facing wall of the popular dessert shop Milk Tavern.

The goal was to stop the stigma about mental health and let people know that “it’s okay to reach out.” The use of modern design, typography and vibrant colors allowed KYCC to talk about mental health in a positive and uplifting way.

“KYCC is proud to continue our #KYCCCANHELP mental health awareness campaign in Koreatown, and to partner with Studio Number One and Milk Tavern,”

– Grace Park, KYCC Clinical Services Manager.

For this mural project, it was important to create a new concept based on the original #KYCCCANHELP poster campaign that was visually attractive to youth, while remaining positive and non-stigmatizing. Once the art was finalized, the mural was executed and painted over a two-day period.

“Studio Number One was honored to design KYCC’s trilingual campaign, which was created to help others overcome the stigma of mental illness and raise awareness about KYCC’s many resources available through their clinical services programs,” said Annie Pham, Agency Marketing Director for Studio Number One. “After the success of the poster campaign, we were thrilled to be able to convert the art into a mural for the Koreatown community to further spread the message that it’s okay to reach out and get the help you need.”
